LEAD Technologies, Inc. has just released two LEADTOOLS add-on products for multi-platform and mobile device application development.

The Document HTML5 Module and Medical HTML5 Module keep up with the latest web development trends and provide LEADTOOLS imaging technology to a larger spectrum of programmers of mobile devices and non-Windows platforms.

The modules include HTML5 and JavaScript image viewer controls that support both mouse and multi-touch (gesture) input. This enables the application to run without feature limitations on desktops, mobile devices and tablets. The viewer control contains native HTML5 image annotation and markup, interactive modes as well as built-in image manipulation.  The viewer can communicate with RESTful and SOAP web services to include more advanced features such as OCR, extended file format support (TIFF, PDF, DOC, etc.), Barcode and Image recognition and processing.

The LEADTOOLS Medical HTML5 Module enables developers to create zero footprint DICOM viewing applications with all features necessary for healthcare professionals.  Integrated with the viewer are window-leveling, series stacking, annotations and other features that do not require plug-ins or installation. With LEADTOOLS' new RESTful web services, developers have the ability to create applications for viewing DICOM images on a desktop, tablet or mobile device, from a local archive or a remote PACS using DICOM communication.  All features are included in an OEM-read and fully customizable demo with source code.

"'LEADTOOLS Anywhere' is our vision for the future of imaging development", says Moe Daher, Chairman and CEO of LEAD Technologies. "That is, a single API that works on any desktop, tablet, or mobile device.  The HTML5 and web service solution we are releasing today is a giant first step in achieving this vision."
